Dear President Trump,

The United States of America is the most powerful nation on Earth because of the values and freedoms it upholds.

President Trump, you have made some powerful enemies.

You have challenged the elite, the Washington insiders, exposed the lies perpetuated by the mainstream media, and taken on the career politicians who do not represent the will of the people.

The same people who are trying to take the election from you are the ones trying to prosecute Julian Assange.

Everything you have achieved as President is under threat.

We continue to observe the increasing attempts of the Left and elites to denigrate the Constitution. They use popular movements grounded in ideology that seeks to eradicate democracy, destroy the family unit, remove our God-given liberty, bring violence to the streets, and use ‘political correctness’ to silence voices that counter their own.

It’s time to fully drain the swamp. You have an opportunity to do this now.

Embracing freedom means defending the Constitution in its entirety – not just some rights – which is the way the Democrats and the Left operate.

President Trump, you can ensure the defence of America from these threats.

Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are enshrined as First Amendment protections for a reason: they are core and essential to a functioning democracy, they are the values that make America the land of liberty, and they provide a beacon of light to which the world can aspire.

Civil liberties are under threat like never before.

During his time in office, former President Obama and the Department of Justice enacted a criminal investigation into WikiLeaks in order to attack and destroy freedom of speech. They wanted to punish Julian Assange because he dared to reveal the truth about Hillary Clinton and the corruption rife within the Democrats. This included Joe Biden as Vice President.

Assange further embarrassed and exposed the Democrats by revealing the misleading information they fed the public regarding the forever wars they waged in the Middle East. He brought us the truth.

You, Mr President, have the opportunity to ensure that this assault on our shared values is prevented from causing further damage – not only within the United States – but also to the global order.

If you, as Commander in Chief, pardon Julian Assange, you will ensure that the national interest is protected and truth prevails. We can’t let the Deep State win.

You have the opportunity to demonstrate, as guardian of the Constitution, that the rule of law is paramount, and shield us from the Democrats’ willingness to violate the First Amendment, at any cost.

Mr President, we are acutely aware that this is unfolding alongside the attempted rise of the Chinese Communist Party and other brutal regimes which use propaganda as a tool of oppression and seek to reject press freedom. We are confident that you will safeguard our values on the world stage; and pardoning Assange would send the strongest possible signal that freedom of speech and the press will never be compromised.

As your son Donald Trump Jr said, a Biden administration will not protect freedom of speech –  the freedoms we hold dear are gone under the Democrats and radical left.

We thank you for your staunch commitment to the people, and implore you to ensure that Julian Assange does not pay for the vendetta of those who seek to destroy everything that keeps America great.

You are the hope of the people.

Yours faithfully,

The Democrats’ War on JULIAN Assange

The Democrats can’t handle the truth. They want to shoot the messenger in order to divert attention away from their veritable betrayal of the Constitution.

Commentator Tucker Carlson investigates why the US Department of Justice is aggressively pursuing Julian Assange.

  • The Democrats sought payback and tried to sue WikiLeaks, however, in July 2019, US District Judge John Koeltl emphasised the “newsworthiness” of WikiLeaks’ publishing activities, describing them as “plainly of the type entitled to the strongest protection that the First Amendment offers.”

  • The Clinton campaign tried to blame Assange and WikiLeaks for losing the campaign.

  • The truth is that Clinton lost the election because of her own actions and the Democrats’ failed policies. The public rejected their left ideology.

  • Michael Weiss says Assange “got what he deserved”.

“They’re [the Democrats are] willing to create a precedent that will criminalise the core function of investigative journalism because – even as they spent two years shrilly denouncing that most trivial “attacks on press freedom” – they don’t actually care about that value at all. They want to protect only the journalism that advances their political interests, while putting people behind bars who publish information that undermines their political interests.”

– Left-wing journalist Glenn Greenwald

WHAT CONSERVATIVES ARE SAYING

“And we remember this eternal truth: Freedom is not a gift from government, freedom is a gift from God. It was Thomas Jefferson who said, “The God who gave us life, gave us liberty.” Our Founding Fathers believed that.. liberty was so fundamental that they enshrined it in the very First Amendment of our great and beloved Constitution.”

President Donald Trump

Tucker Carlson: Julian Assange has no reason to lie.

“@RealDonaldTrump should issue a full pardon Julian Assange..[he] risked his life to expose the crimes of Barack Obama and the Deep State against the American people”

CongreSSWOMAN Marjorie Taylor Greene, TwITTER

Julian Assange: Media coverage in America is very dishonest.

Tucker Carlson: People should be mad at Obama, not Assange.

“Were it not for… Assange, we would never know about this government criminality. And if we never know about government malfeasance it can neveR be found to be criminal in the first place. That is convenient for governments, but it is also a recipe for tyranny.”

FORMER GOP CONGRESSMAN, DR RON PAUL

Assange: The American press is shielding Hillary Clinton.

“The Founding Fathers would have protected WikiLeaks at all costs and it is time that we inherit their spirit.”

Republican Senator Rand Paul

About Julian Assange & Wikileaks

Julian Assange is an Australian publisher who is charged under the US Espionage Act. Assange is also charged with one count under the US Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) for passively receiving information. He is not accused of hacking. He is the first publisher in history charged with espionage.

Julian Assange faces 175 years imprisonment – all for engaging in regular journalistic activity, and exposing the Deep State.

Julian Assange did not hack the US, nor did he assist Chelsea Manning to hack the US servers – she already had access to the documents in question.

Chelsea Manning took full responsibility for obtaining the documents in question; all Assange and WikiLeaks allegedly did was passively receive information, assist to protect Manning as a source and publish the cables, just as the New York Times, the Guardian and other media organisations did. Protecting sources is core to journalistic practice.

“Although I stopped sending documents to [WikiLeaks], no one associated with [WikiLeaks] pressured me into giving more information. The decisions I made to send documents and information to [WikiLeaks] were my own decisions and I take full responsibility for my actions.”

Chelsea Manning

Assange went to great lengths to redact the material provided to him by Manning. At one point, Assange attempted to seek an injunction to prevent the publication of the password that would provide access to unredacted material in order to protect those named in the cables.

In July 2010, Assange and WikiLeaks took steps to notify the Obama Administration of the 15,000 redacted cables to protect people from harm. Whilst Assange took steps to protect people named in the documents, the Guardian and Der Spiegel published unredacted cables. It was only after these cables were already published by these news outlets, did WikiLeaks publish. The password was revealed in a book by David Leigh and Luke Harding.

During the trial of Manning, it was confirmed that no US personnel were put at risk or harmed due to these publications, and Captain Stephen Lim testified that the Afghan and Iraq SIGACTs did not contain sensitive information about sources.

To charge a publisher under the Espionage Act for exposing information that was embarrassing to the government poses serious threats to the First Amendment. The precedent this sets, places publishers and journalists at risk if they dare to challenge and expose authorities. What he and WikiLeaks exposed was in the public interest.

Julian Assange is currently detained in Belmarsh, a maximum-security prison in the UK as a prisoner facing extradition. The extradition hearing took place over the course of three weeks in September–October 2020. Evidence was presented by the defence team outlining the serious health concerns for Assange, the public importance of the material published, the inevitable flagrant denial of justice if he is extradited, as well as the fact that espionage is a classic political offence.  The US/UK Extradition treaty notes that, “Extradition shall not be granted if the offense for which extradition is requested is a political offense.”

The court is due to hand down its decision on January 4, 2021.

The court was tasked with deciding whether the extradition complied with UK law – not whether he broke US law. One of the key deliberations is whether espionage constitutes a political offence, as this is prohibited under the Act.

Assange and his lawyers were spied upon (see this report and this report) whilst he was detained in the Ecuadorean embassy, seriously violating basic due process rights. After his arrest, two of his manuscripts, as well as his legal papers, medical records and electronic equipment were handed to US officials by Ecuadorean embassy staff. The seizure of his belongings violates laws that protect medical and legal confidentiality. A case against UC Global, the Spanish company accused of undertaking the spying, is under way in Spain.

The prison conditions in Belmarsh have greatly impeded Assange’s ability to prepare for his defence. For example, the laptop he was provided was not fit for purpose (keys glued down, USB port epoxy filled, no text editing programs), he struggled to gain access to a sufficient amount of time with his lawyers, and due to significant time in detention, Assange is suffering numerous debilitating health issues. The case against Assange is extremely complex and required him to adequately prepare in order to defend himself.

The hearings left Assange unable to meaningfully participate in proceedings, particularly due to COVID-19. For example, when he was present in court, he was kept in the dock and unable to freely communicate with counsel without the lawyers for the US and UK hearing his comments.

On one occasion on his way to the court, he was handcuffed 11 times, strip-searched twice and his case notes were confiscated by prison authorities. On another occasion, Assange was placed in six holding cells on the way to appear via video link.

Several medical reports outline mounting concerns about his ill health due to prolonged arbitrary confinement and his medical conditions.

Highly respected psychiatrist Dr Michael Kopelman has identified Assange as a person at high risk of suicide, particularly if he is imprisoned in the US. Assange has been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, and is on the autism spectrum.

Background

Julian Assange grew up in Australia. As someone who was always interested in liberty and justice, Assange spent his early years assisting law-enforcement to catch paedophiles and set up internet access for people who were unable to afford it.

In 2006, Assange set up WikiLeaks in order to provide a platform for the publication of undisclosed material that involved war, misconduct and corruption. He remained Editor-in-Chief until September 2018.

In the 14 years since WikiLeaks was created, the media organisation has disclosed more than ten million documents exposing corruption, widespread abuse of power, and crimes against humanity.

WikiLeaks has changed the landscape of journalism, set a new standard, and importantly, called out the mainstream media for running the agendas of the elite and lying to the public.

Some of the key disclosures include:

  • During 2010 and 2011, WikiLeaks published ground-breaking material provided by Chelsea Manning, including the ‘Collateral Murder’ video, the Iraq War Logs, Afghan War Diaries, Cablegate and the Guantanamo Bay files. Because of these disclosures, we now know the inner workings of the Deep State.

  • In 2012, WikiLeaks published documents from several Middle-Eastern countries such as Syria, Saudi Arabia and Turkey that exposed corruption and inner workings of oppressive regimes.

  • In 2016, WikiLeaks published files showing the transnational trade deals that were being organised behind closed doors that would encroach on civil liberties, compromise sovereignty, benefit corporations and the Deep State. 2016 was also the year that WikiLeaks published the Democratic National Convention emails, exposing the corruption of the Clinton campaign and the Democrats.

  • In March 2017, WikiLeaks published Vault 7, a trove of revelations about the CIA, including widespread electronic surveillance and the use of cyberwarfare. It was after these publications that the Deep State increased its efforts to prosecute and ‘take-down’ Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.

WikiLeaks has an impeccable record of publishing truthful information.

Assange has a fiancé named Stella, and they have two young children, Max and Gabriel.

Australian Parliamentarians George Christensen MP and Andrew Wilkie MP are advocating for a full pardon for Julian Assange.

Current Situation

Julian Assange is imprisoned in Belmarsh, a maximum-security prison in the UK, reserved for violent criminals and offenders, as a prisoner facing extradition.

Julian Assange has not seen his lawyers in person since March 2020.

Julian Assange is currently imprisoned without conviction.

  • Assange has not had face-to-face meetings with lawyers since March 2020. Whilst other low and medium security prisons are allowing visits, Belmarsh is regularly going into lockdown due to COVID-19, restricting Assange’s ability to see lawyers and his family.

  • Assange suffers from a lung condition which places him at higher risk of contracting COVID-19. Prisoners have been diagnosed with COVID-19 at Belmarsh and 32 people have died in UK prisons as of December 2020.

  • Belmarsh is a dangerous prison and suicides are commonplace. A friend of Assange’s died from suicide in November 2020.

  • Prisoner transport has caused significant problems for Assange, including being handcuffed multiple times and being strip searched.

  • Assange has been unable to access the health care he requires. Julian suffers from several health conditions that require specialised support and intervention.

  • Assange is relying on video calls to communicate with the outside world. The video room is used by multiple inmates and has a lack of ventilation, exposing him to an increased risk of contracting the virus. There is a five-week waiting list for a video call.

  • Assange is detained in a single cell, with limited ventilation, for around 23 hours a day, depending on lockdown restrictions.

“Our country wasn’t built by cancel culture, speech codes, and soul-crushing conformity. We are NOT a nation of timid spirits. We are a nation of fierce, proud, and independent American Patriots.

We are a nation of pilgrims, pioneers, adventurers, explorers and trailblazers who refused to be tied down, held back, or reined in. Americans have steel in their spines, grit in their souls, and fire in their hearts. There is no one like us on earth.”
