There is growing concern over Communist China’s military aggression and its infiltration into our nation.

In the past week, Communist China provocatively flew warplanes over Taiwan, to which the democratic island nation responded by deploying its own fighter jets. Such incidents have led the US-based Council on Foreign Relations to flag the distinct possibility of war.

Closer to home, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute has warned of infiltration into our nation by Communist China, particularly via Chinese state-owned enterprises, and has called on the government to investigate. You can read the report in full at the Institute website.

This follows news that a Chinese state-owned company is vying to build what would essentially be a Chinese city in Papua New Guinea, right on our doorstep, literally two kilometres from Australian territory. The Prime Minister has said this news is “speculative” but the government remains concerned. While PNG is a sovereign nation, Australia cannot allow that city to be built and we should use whatever action at our disposal to stop it, including suspending foreign aid to PNG.

Meanwhile, Department of Defence bureaucrats have opted to renew a lease for data storage with a Chinese-owned data storage company. While Defence had been storing data with this company for some time, it was acquired by a Chinese firm in 2016 (with the existing Defence contract running until this year). The Prime Minister has said sensitive Defence data has been stored elsewhere but that Defence bureaucrats had said that not all of the non-sensitive data could be migrated across to another data storage site before the lease expires. While it is good to note that sensitive defence data is likely not compromised, what have Defence bureaucrats been doing about this issue for the past four years or so?

I am increasingly concerned that the Defence bureaucracy do not get the threat posed to our nation by corporations linked to the Chinese Communist Party State. I have been concerned about this since Defence claimed there was no security threat posed by a Chinese company with strategic links to the Chinese military leasing the Port of Darwin.

There needs to be push back. With other backbenchers from the Liberals and Labor on the Parliament’s Joint Standing Committee for Trade and Investment Growth, I am working behind the scenes on a major report to government that could shake things up when it comes to investment from Chinese state-owned enterprises in Australia. That report emanates from a recent inquiry that I dubbed ‘the China inquiry’ which many Nation First readers contributed to with submissions. The committee report is likely due to be tabled in March. Watch this space.

Get up to speed on the Great Reset

You’ve no doubt heard about the socialist-corporatist hybrid plan known as ‘the Great Reset’. The plan is being pushed by the World Economic Forum, run by James Bond villain lookalike Klaus Schwab (pictured above), and covers everything from the elimination of private property (for everyone but the corporations and oligarchs of course!) to the fusion of humanity with artificial intelligence. I kid you not.

In a recent Epoch Times opinion piece, it was pointed out that the imposition of the Great Reset - a major reworking of the global economic structure - would likely be done by force and centralised power. The writer said that:

“The last century has shown that centralized power always ends in totalitarianism sustained by violence. Every nation that has adopted this model of amoral governance has ended in poverty, tyranny, or both. Think the Soviet Union, Cambodia, China, and Cuba. There are no exceptions. If the WEF does away with prescriptive moral principles, the results will be no different.”

On Sky News, Rowan Dean has been warning of this for some time, stating that the Great Reset was really just a plan by the new oligarchs to “control every aspect of our lives”. Similarly, former Senator Cory Bernardi, now also a Sky News host, has warned that the Great Reset is really a plan by “leftist elites” who want to dictate how you live your life.

It is not just folks from the Right saying that the Great Reset plan will make for a frightening future. Well-known identities from the Left such as Naomi Klein and Russell Brand have criticised the Great Reset, with Klein labelling it “insidious”.

Everyone must get up to speed with this globalist plan that seeks to fuse socialism and corporatism and embed it permanently into our economy and society. Protecting abortion babies born alive

The text in the image above is lifted from a Queensland Health clinical guideline document. When a baby is born alive as a result of an abortion procedure, the official health policy of that State and many others around the nation is to let that baby die.

This is a situation I can no longer abide by and so I’ve had the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill drafted. I have written to the Prime Minister and other relevant Ministers to ask that the bill be adopted as a government bill or at least go forward for a vote - even a conscience vote - in the parliament as a private members’ bill. Regardless, if the government does not act in some measure within the month, I will introduce the bill into parliament anyway.

In a sad ‘Tale from the Woke Side’, the Australian National University is mandating politically correct gender-neutral terms such as “chestfeeding” instead of “breastfeeding” and “gestational parent” and “non-gestational parent” instead of “mum” and “dad”. You can’t make this stuff up!

Caldron Pool quoted me on Facebook cancelling news in Australia: “I don’t like the censorship but now that the news media has a taste of what it’s like to be deplatformed they might fight for online speech for conservatives a bit more… I won’t hold my breath.” (On the back of this unpopular move by Facebook, you might want to share my www.StopCensorship.com.au campaign with your family and friends!)

In the People’s Socialist Republic of DanAndrewstan, otherwise known as Victoria, a pastor has been arrested for allegedly “inciting” his flock to protest against draconian State COVID-19 rules. This follows Victorian police interrupting the pastor’s church service about a week ago. I wonder which other jurisdiction locks up pastors for following government rules on services and speech? I think Pastor Li Juncai might be able to tell us but he’s now in a jail cell in China.
