I do read your feedback and saw that a lot of readers enjoyed getting a list of recommended books but some felt I’d left a few good books out so I will be promoting a few books each newsletter for you to collect. If you feel there are others I should read myself or be promoting to others let me know. But without any further ado, here’s five more good books to read, four of which are authored by Australians: 1. ‘Stealth War: How China Took Over While America’s Elites Slept’ ‘Stealth War’ is up there with ‘Silent Invasion’ as a must read on the Communist Chinese threat. As it’s full title suggests, ‘Stealth War’ takes aim at political, academic, media and corporate leaders in the USA for turning a blind eye and even appeasing the Chinese Communist Party, but the general criticisms could equally apply to their counterparts in Australia. He highlights how Confucius Institutes have been placed in universities to monitor and control Chinese students on campus and spread communist narratives to unsuspecting students. This recent book is written by Sanjeev Sabhlok, the Victorian Government economist who resigned his post because of the disastrous and liberty-crushing response to the pandemic from the Andrews Labor Government in that State. There were WHO guidelines in 2019 about flu-type pandemics and none involved lockdowns. Australian governments including Victoria's had clear plans for all kinds of pandemics. None involved 5-km lockdowns, 23-hour curfews and mandatory masks even in the open air. These lockdowns are causing huge collateral damage while the governments remain in denial. The governments must lift the lockdowns and focus on the at-risk population. We also need constitutional and legal reforms to ensure that this doesn't occur again. We face a looming mental health crisis. Slavery, censorship and superstition are back. Our politics are polarising. All the affluence in the world can’t seem to quench our thirst for meaning and purpose. But maybe there is hope—if we know where to look. On human rights for the unborn, his revelations of politicians turning a blind eye to the evil of eugenics is shocking. He details the bombing of the Australian Christian Lobby’s office and its poor handling by the Australian Federal Police. Chapters on “Safe Schools” and the 2017 marriage plebiscite are a sad tale of what could have been. Shelton ends with a compelling call for good people to rise and pay the price for a better future.
